Three Days in Zurich, Switzerland

Swiss Dreams: A Morning Arrival and Scenic Train Ride to Lauterbrunnen

Zurich, Switzerland, is truly one-of-a-kind destination. Glittering blue Zurich lake has crystal clear water, and many restaurants along it is a sight straight out of a movie scene. I landed here travelling from London. If you are following my Europe in 10 days series then you'd know I recommend travelling to Zurich, Switzerland from Innsbruck, Austria. It will take you around 3 and half hours if you travelling via train from Innsbruck, and it would be very scenic journey.

Prior to arriving in Zurich, I had been in London, and the journey from London to Zurich took me approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes by plane . As soon as the plane lowers you can see the snow capped mountains and mesmerising lush green valleys. Regardless of the transportation mode you choose or the country you're arriving from, the breathtaking views awaiting you in this journey are guaranteed to leave you in awe. I had already carefully devised my itinerary, with the intention of heading straight to Lauterbrunnen immediately upon touching down at Zurich Airport.

Lauterbrunnen: An Introduction to a Natural Paradise

Lauterbrunnen is a charming small village that boasts awe-inspiring natural beauty. Get ready to explore and be captivated by the wonders of this natural paradise.

day 1: overnight stay at lauterbrunnen

Arriving here on train is magical experience. The train passes through several picturesque villages and towns. Along the way, you can enjoy spectacular views of the lake, mountains, and valleys. I visited Lauterbrunen in November and the snow had not come down on the roads and streets yet. It was only on the mountains and making them beautiful. November is a great time to visit Lauterbrunen because the weather is cooler and the crowds are smaller. The autumnal colors of the trees and the crisp air make it the perfect time to explore the area and take in its natural beauty. With fewer people around, you can enjoy exploring the nearby mountains, trails, and waterfalls in peace. When you arrive there take a stroll around the village of Lauterbrunnen.

It is an idyllic village at the foot of the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by lush alpine meadows, pristine glacial lakes and rugged peaks, this place is a stunning example of natural beauty. I was there in November and this month offers snow capped mountains and crisp air. This is where you stay the night. This village is all about relaxing. It was so pretty that I didn't want to do anything except to immerse in nature and admire. You can take a scenic train ride on the Appenzell Railway.
